YAMAHA MASTERCLASS
Unless you’re a racer it doesn’t get much better than riding an R1M around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Yamaha’s Silverstone Masterclass is special. ‘It’s one-on-one instruction and we gear it to what you want,’ says chief instructor Niall Mackenzie. ‘Riders get double the usual trackday track time, so that’s 12 sessions of 25 minutes each. We get club racers coming along, but mostly it’s trackday guys wanting to ride better. You get the full deal – we assess where you’re at and what you want to work on, using video analysis etc. Tarran and Taylor instruct, plus Troy Corser if I’m away, or one of our other senior instructors, like former racer Alan Batson.’ A Masterclass on the full GP track costs £899, or £599 if you use your own bike. You can also hire an R1M without the instruction.
