Spidi Globetracker jacket and trousers Used for: six months Price: £1299.98 Info: spidi.com
This is an expensive suit and you can feel where the money’s been spent – the shell. As you’d hope, it was 100% waterproof when used daily through winter, and it never su ers from condensation now the weather is sticky. But more impressive is how it looks aer six months and 8000 miles: like new. At this rate it’s going to last at least a decade. The pockets are waterproof (though I don’t like the vertical main ones which, always, feel like they’ll lose stu if I forget the zip), and the neck seal is excellent. There are niggles though. Most serious is that without the winter liner in, the elbow armour ops all over the place. I can’t imagine it would do any good in a fall. Then there’s the gusset at the wrists, which is too light a material and snags in the zip . The trousers are awless though, with a similar indestructible feel.
