MG currently owns four Harleys. To him it makes sense. The current state of play is…
1984 H D FXR Evo
Currently on Rich at Skullchopa’s bench getting the borderline insane Leineweber L4S cam installed and a few chassis/pipe mods done too. The heads are with Alex at Fastlane for a refresh and to check that valve-to-valve clearance with this 0.528in li cam won’t result in a horrible mess. Ready mid-july.
1982 H D FXR Shovel
Going like a good ’un. Starter motor’s a bit sluggish, so that’ll need a wee investigation, but otherwise all cock-on. Naturally, this impossible state of aairs cannot last, but I’m certainly enjoying things while it does.
1983 H D FXWG Shovel
Recently arrived from the US of A (see Bike, Aug 2018). Waiting for a dating letter from HD so it can be Uk-registered. Meantime planning what little it needs for an MOT; tyres, some attention to the oil plumbing and wiring, and that’s it. No knocks, no rattles, and it’s been tted with a decent cam by a previous owner.
1991 H D FXLR Evo
This is super-low mileage at 11,000 and the least messed about with of my hogs. When I say that I mean it’s only got a carb and air lter and pipe, and it’s been converted from belt to chain nal drive. Belts are for holding your pants up, chains are for driving bikes.
