‘Welcome to Bike’s 2018 Bike Of The Year awards…’

- Hugo Wilson

theatre Welcome in Peterborough to the Broadway for Bike’s 2018 Bike of the Year awards. You get free admission with your copy of Bike, but please buy a bag of popcorn from Grace at the box office to enjoy during the performance. This year the show features some amazing turns. Bike’s founding editor, the noted performer Mark Williams, is doing a surprising routine with the new £4199, 410cc, Royal Enfield Himalayan (p36). Next up, Rupert Paul on stage with the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, the updated and big-tanked version of the 2016 Bike Of The Year winner. How have things moved on in two years? In the same category is a new BMW F850GS and a reworked Triumph Tiger 800 (p42). Our old favourite the Triumph Speed Triple has been updated for 2018, and we’ve got it doing an Eric and Ernie style double act with the new Honda CB1000R+ and special guest Gary Inman (p54). Bring me sunshine… indeed. The Ducati Panigale V4 is one of the most spectacular bikes of 2018 and, with the Ducati’s assistance, Ben Lindley will perform an amazing trick in which all his luggage will disappear (p60). Oh, and I’m doing a jig with the KTM 790 Duke (70). Enjoy the show (but please turn off your mobile phone).
