‘Kangaroo of horribleness’
In response to ‘It runs in the family’ (Bike, August). My Monster 1200 has been in the garage since the end of May and my good friends at Woods motorcycles (Abergele) kindly lent me their yellow 821. I had the previous version and consider the 2015 M821 my favourite bike ever. So I was excited to try the latest and ‘yellow’ version. After 1000+ miles I hate it. Above 30mph it is the perfect bike – good looks, decent tank range, not too tall, not too heavy and that sound. Below 30mph in touring mode it’s a kangaroo of horribleness. I gave up trying to manage it in town, switching to urban mode to make it bearable. So, I was delighted to see Paul Lang’s August issue comments about his ‘bucking bronco’ ride. Julie Owens, email
