With the launch of the Daytona in 2006 Triumph stopped copying the Japanese. Instead of building an identi-kit inline four they broke the mould and went with, the now legendary, 675cc triple. This attention-grabbing format saw the Daytona sell when its rivals struggled. That means there are plenty of used bikes out there and, with good reason, it’s a popular track day tool. It also laid the foundation for the successful Street Triple and Tiger 800 ranges.
