BMW F800ST – £2500

Powered by BMW’S 798cc parallel twin the ST is a real charmer, yet typically Bmw-efficient. Lightweight and narrow with a low seat height, this sports tourer is reassuring for newer riders while its 16-litre fuel tank and frugal fuel economy easily sees a range of more than 200-miles between fill-ups. Add to this a belt final drive, so no messy chain lube required, and Bmw-fitted factory options such as heated grips, an even lower seat, lots of luggage variations and it all adds up to a fantastic package for anyone wanting a lightweight sports tourer, or just a great value commuter. This wonderful little sports tourer has been flying below most riders’ radars since its launch 12 years ago. As a result it is, unfairly, overshadowed by its bigger and flashier siblings such as the GS and RT. Yet, if your life lacks an amazing value, do-it-all motorcycle, the F800ST is the solution.
