LS2 Spitfire helmet
Open-face hats have advantages. A less obstructed view gives a greater sense of the environment, and you’re more aware of sights and smells. Forecourt staff don’t bark about removing your helmet, car drivers respond better to seeing a face, and you’re less inclined to ride like an imbecile (due to arguably less protection, but we’ll gloss over that). This new one from LS2 has a shaped shell so doesn’t look like a bowling ball, an in-built visor that doesn’t make eyes stream at 60mph, plus a tag on the rear if you use goggles, and it is well finished for an 80 quid lid. There are various colours and graphics, though this ‘Sunrise’ is the coolest (as if I know anything about style).
