Modern bikes are (mostly great)
Congratulations on a cracking October issue. I’m particularly heartened that you’ve come to appreciate light, relatively basic bikes instead of eternally chasing ever higher and more irrelevant horsepower and multiple riding modes. I came to a similar realisation about a year ago. Having spent many years riding ever larger and more powerful custom bikes and giant trailies I finally got around to buying one of the last 675 Street Triples, then dirt cheap because Triumph had just launched a replacement. It came with loads of extras and once fitted with a comfort seat and a top box (bugger, there goes all my credibility), it does everything I want a bike to do. Ian Hadcocks, email
