Aprilia RS660 Concept
Lightweight and 100bhp? Count us in
There was no pre-show teasing about the RS660 concept, and no-one at Aprilia seemed willing to say much about it, but the engine’s castings appear real, and the aluminium twin-spar frame appears to be production ready. The spec sheet says 660cc and 100bhp and not much else. The rest is as you’d expect, with ride-by-wire electronics, integrated aerodynamics and a TFT dash. Much of bodywork was carbon fibre, and the colour matching of wheels, engine and fairing highlights look great. An attractive, lightweight 100bhp sportsbike is a tempting proposition, though whether UK sized people can actually fit on the bike remains to be seen. Questions such as ‘when?’ and ‘how much?’ are met with Italian shrugs. Here’s hoping.
