Future racing stars used to start on a PW50 or minimoto, but these days it’s more likely to be an electric trials bike… or this. The SXE 5 is KTM’S tiddly 50cc kid’s motocross bike with an electric motor. KTM say it’s good enough to compete on, but of course has all the advantages of an electric bike for beginners – no hot exhaust to burn yourself, linear power and no noise so kids can practice in the garden without driving nextdoor mad.
