The RGV250 was sold in the UK from 1988-96, and continued in Japan for a couple of years more. After all these years they still provide an utterly compelling riding experience that’s unlike any modern motorcycle. That’s part of the reason that really good ones now sell for £6000, while complete projects start at around £3000. What to look for? ‘If you are paying top money you want original and scuff free bodypanels and unblemished wheels, frame and swingarm.’ says Chris Newbiggin of magazine. ‘And blue and white ones are worth more than black ones.’ Do the research, but the RGV is worth the hype.
