Yamaha knocked up a new R1 for 2006, with more power, revised chassis and all that. Some bloke called Rossi rode it in the promo videos. It coincided with Yamaha’s 50th anniversary and so a limited number were sold as ‘Kenny Roberts reps’ with iconic speed-block paint. This one has a full history, all its original docs and has only done 3500 miles. It might not be as blingy or exotic as some of the other bikes here, but offers a brilliant balance: it’s exclusive (when did you last see one?), yet isn’t so rare or valuable you’ll be scared to ride it.
