House builder forgoes site & saves Triumph instead

-

º In 1983 the co-operative that had been producing Triumph motorcycles collapsed, and in November that year all the assets were sold. Apparently house builder John Bloor was originally interested in the site, a prime spot in the village of Meriden. Bloor is canny, the site must have sold for more than he was prepared to pay. Instead he bought the name, and other assets. Triumph production restarted in 1991.
