TT times

As my biking highlight of the year (the TT ) is not now taking place I got to thinking…

Some years ago (possibly the 1980s) you ran an article showing pictures of certain parts of the TT course and I think you gave the legal speed limit and also the speed the racers were going through the corners. Could you update the article and include the speeds of the current TT stars. Oh, and I’m writing this after a cracking 200 mile run out – Preston, Ripon, Masham, Leyburn, Kettlewell and back home – in perfect weather.

Good times, bad times

In response to your request for ideas on past features to re-run I would love to see again, and share with new readers, a spoof article from the 1970s when I was an enthusiast­ic FS1-E riding teenager. The feature was about the last models of the dying British motorcycle industry (sad though the subject matter was), with model names such as Lame Duck, I recall. But, as a Triumph Street Triple rider myself, I’m glad to see the British industry is now doing so well.

Fun in dark times

Loved your Rocket 3 review ( Bike, June). It had been in my fantasy garage since the first and only time I rode one, for 50 miles in 2004. It had faded from my memory but now it’s back. Sadly not the twenty grand. Thank you for renewing my fantasy – in these dark times a bike that exists simply for pure fun makes so much sense.

Thumpers

Living in rural Monmouthsh­ire, four-stroke thumpers make a lot of sense. My much loved 17 year old CCM 404E has finally given up the ghost and is now sadly departed. So, when I read Pete Boast’s article about his Tigcraft ( Bike, June) I found
