The NSU Rennmax was the German factory’s two-cylinder dohc race bike which, ridden by Werner Haas, won the 250cc World Championsh­ip in 1953 and ‘54. Camshafts were driven by shaft and bevel gear and the distinctiv­e alloy fuel tank, fairing, mudguards and beak were hand formed aluminium. The frame and fork blades are pressed steel. This bike is from 1953.
