Regular on-time valve clearance checks are essential on the V4s. Unlike the previous Tuono V-twin, which rarely needed adjustment, the V4 is likely to need a bit of adjustment because of its lightweight valves and superbike heritage. The check adds a couple of hours onto the 12,000mile service, which obviously means paying for two hours of additional labour. But it’s essential for ensuring longevity of the engine.
