£1150 saving Kawasaki Z650

º It’s always hard to recommend that anyone buys a new Kawasaki when they first come out. Give it a year, wait around till the end of summer, and there are always ace deals across the range. The perky parallel-twin Z650 is more fun than a Suzuki SV and nicer built than a Yamaha MT-07, and Kawasaki do all this for an entirely reasonable £6649. But dealers, including Rochdale Kawasaki, have box-fresh 2019-model Zeds in assorted colours, pre-registered, for a rather snip-like £5499.

£1656 saving Triumph Bobber

» Triumph’s most impressive model of the last five years? It’s certainly up there. The way the thumping 1200cc twin combines laid-back charm and custom cool with genuine usability is exceptional – and it’s a flippin’ high-quality creation, too. Triumph ask £10,650, which looks very attractive next to rival bikes. However, Fowlers have pre-reg bikes in a choice of colours for £8994. And we’re not talking twoyear-old bikes – these are 2020 models on a new 70-plate. Wow.

£2404 saving Suzuki Katana

» Suzuki will gladly take £11,399 from you for a new Katana. Toddle along to Millenium, however, and they’re asking £8995 for a 69-plate pre-reg Kat with ten insignificant delivery miles. That’s a fat saving on a desperately overlooked bike. While the rest of the retro world makes same-same 60s-inspired twins, Suzuki have successfully captured some of the iconic style and fine detail of the 1980s original, and adhered to the whooshing, road-biased, usable GSX-S1000. It’s the future of retros…

£1400saving Kawasaki W800street

» We’re fans of Kawasaki’s cool throwback 800. The bevel-drive twin has the convincing rumble of an old British plodder, the quality and level of detailing are spot-on, and it’s a charming thing to swing around on. Trad’ bikes don’t get any more authentic or convincing. The problem is that the £8399 list price makes the W800 look expensive next to Guzzi’s V7 and Enfield’s 650s. Thankfully Potteries in Stoke are setting things straight with prereg Ws at £6999.
