Sportsbikes Rocket boosters? who knows ...
What’s new? We know ducati are updating the Panigale and Supersport models, but we don’t know how significant the revisions will be. But the bikes will have been announced by the time this issue of Bike slides gracefully through your letterbox. Full analysis next month. When’s it coming? In time for next year’s leaping lambs. Bike’s opinion? Hard to say, though hopefully the updates will stop the Supersport being so overlooked.
Scrambler Refresh to keep the popular retro... er, fresh
What’s new? The simple V-twin is a popular way into Ducati, and has allowed the Monster to become more up-to-date (see below). Next year’s updates were announced a few hours after Bike went to press, and Ducati wouldn’t tell us anything under embargo despite batting our eyelids and smiling nicely. We expect the changes to focus on electronics and trimmings. When’s it coming? Early in the new year. Bike’s opinion? Scramblers are good, not ace, small tweaks won’t change this.
Monster No longer the‘ simple’ bike in the range
What’s new? The trademark steel trellis is ditched for an aluminium ‘front frame’ like the Panigale and new Multistrada. Aluminium sub frame and new asymmetrical swingarm too, plus a Panigale-style seat unit, twin right-side exhaust cans and a full quota of blingy electronics. We expect the first offering to be a replacement for the 821. When’s it coming? Final reveal expected early December, bikes here in spring. Bike’s opinion? It’ll be great… but we’ll miss those signature steel tubes.
