MT-07 Gentle tweaks for the class leader

What’s new? The MT-07 gets a gentle makeover, not a radical re-engineering as with Yamaha's three-cylinder models. The 700 gets bigger front discs, LED lighting, wider handlebars and new colours and graphics. When’s it coming? In time for the spring. Bike’s opinion? We love the MT-07, but in 2021 its class leading position is under threat from the new Triumph Trident. We can't wait to get them together for a head to head comparison test.

MT-09 Yamaha favourite gets major over haul

What’s new? Everything. much of the same technology is as used on the tracer, with an 889 cc engine with all-new innards, inlet and exhaust system. power is up to a claimed 117bhp and torque to 68.5 lb. ft, and at 1500 less revs. engine, new chassis and wheels are all lighter than the previous model. updated electronics include a6-axi si mu with lean sensitive traction, wheelie control and slide control. Styling is updated too, with a new 'face' but the familiar upright stance. When’ sit coming? Mid-march. Bike’s opinion? Bring it on. As long as the price is right.

MT-09SP Fancy version of the triple is super tempting

What’s new? All the same good stuff as the base model but, as with the existing mt-09s pt here' s a big dollop of extrabling;u prated suspension at both ends, cruise control, fancy seat stitching and anr1m inspired colour scheme. forks are 41 mm fully-adjustable kay aba( and gold), rear shock is fully-adjustable Öhlins that retains the coolbolt-on remote adjuster. When’s it coming?

Mid-march. Bike’s opinion? The previous spw as less than a grand more than the base model. we' re suckers for fancy extras, so if that pricing remains it'll be hard to resist the baubles on th esp version.
