» Exhaust headers corrode if ridden in grotty weather, and look scabby. The exhaust might rattle from cold too – nothing to worry about.

» The gearbox can develop a fondness for false neutrals, and be stiff going from 6th to 5th. Check clutch action too.

» Make sure the fuel gauge is accurate – this can get a tad erratic.
