GENERATING PROBLEMS

Weather affects the dry generators on series I and II models. They also rust, thanks to a fondness for magnetic bits. They need scheduled cleaning to maintain condition and give the battery a fighting chance. Easy enough to do, though beware the crankcase bolts – these 5mm screws are long and should always be smeared in copper grease.
