KEEP IT LUBED UP

Make sure the clutch arm pivot pin has been kept lubricated. It’s a simple job, but one that owners overlook. And it’s important. If it gets dry this causes clutch slip, seizure, or for the needle-roller bearing at the rear of the gearbox to fail – if the biting point of the clutch varies with engine temperature, you’re looking at a new bearing. Replacement should only be two or three hours work, but is a job that needs doing right. Guzzi altered the design for series III models so you needn’t worry if you’re looking at a later V7.
