Kawasaki kv 75
» Kawasaki’s first diddy two-wheeler was of the generator-on-wheels variety, similar to the Fantic (top right). They squared the job up in 1971 with the MT1 for the mini-bike-loving US market. The ‘mini trail’ was influenced by Honda’ s monkey and dax, so had a semi-auto three-speed ’box and fold-down handlebars. The difference was a 75cc two-stroke with a savage 4.2bhp, giving the Kwak the edge over its putt-putting 49cc four-stroke competition. It became the KV75 in 1976. This one’s from ’79 and for sale on a certain online auction site.
