BIKE (UK)

Fanti ctx7

-

» The first mini-bikes were marketed more as scooters, and many looked like fairground rides that’d slipped off a merry-go-round. Just like this Fantic. It’s a step on from earlier pull-start buzzbombs, though you still need to pedal to tease the 40cc two-stroke Minarelli engine into life. Love the external fork springs, fold-up footpegs, luggage area above the engine and utter simplicity. TX7S are rare, which is why the pristine example at Earnshaws (01484 421232) quite rightly has a premium ticket attached. Ace colour too.
