A brew and a view
The enlightening, entertaining and plain ridiculous on the Youtube…
Roads: Guy versus Michael
Lest you ever forget that Guy Martin was a sublime road racer, watch this. He’s racing Michael Dunlop at the Ulster GP in 2013 and, having left a high quality field miles behind, the two of them set about battling like they’re on a kart track. Breathtaking. youtube.com/watch?v=pfqj3p3l0ri
Bravery: Harley versus canyon
Youtube is crammed to the electronic rafters with maniacs, but this one has to be seen to be believed. Armed with an ape-hangered Harley and a protective T-shirt he rips past a sportsbike and carves down a canyon like Marquez. Give this man a race contract (if he’s still alive). youtube.com/watch?v=bfzhc3i0pry
Nostalgia: Macau on one wheel
At the end of the 1988 GP season, Kevin Schwantz took his Suzuki RGV500 GP bike to Macau. Having broken the lap record by seven seconds in practice he decides to ‘entertain the crowd’ during the two races and proceeds to wheelie everywhere, while destroying the field. Hilarious and awe-inspiring. youtube.com/watch?v=nqlmyf6md_8
Skills: Motogp rider on trackday
Ever wondered what a Motogp rider would look like in the fast group of a trackday? Suzuki Motogp test rider and EX-WSB champ Sylvain Guintoli has been making brilliant videos for a while now but this one is a highlight. youtube.com/watch?v=y8cmawxafge&t=163s
