Communication is important

Pit boards are in constant use throughout the race. They are used to tell riders when to come in and swap, what position they’re in, when to refuel or that they are a ‘nob’. For this six hour race teams are allowed two to four riders and have to stick to stints of 30 minutes maximum, with an allowance of five minutes to change riders. If a rider exceeds 35 minutes then their team is given a time penalty at the end of the race.
