Limited choice? Who cares?

Ducati’s Streetfighter V4 has a 200/60 ZR17 rear tyre. Most 200-width tyres are a 55 profile, but the 60 mimics Pirelli’s racing slick for a larger contact patch and more grip. This is great, but means there are only two fitments available: the standard Pirelli Rosso Corsa II and the latest Super Corsa SP V3. Which is fine by me as they’re both brilliant. The Rosso Corsa IIS are superb, road or track, but for that little extra the Super Corsa SPS really let you enjoy a 200bhp-plus supernaked (or any large superbike) to the max. They’re only fractions of a second slower than a race tyre at full pelt, but don’t need warmers, work in a wide range of temperatures and don’t degrade through heat cycles. Better than you’d think in the wet too, as long as it’s not too chilly. Best of all they’ve lasted over 3000 miles. Very impressive.
