Serial bike buyers open up on owning loads and loads of bikes
Do you lie awake at night fretting about how many bikes you own, what to buy next or, heaven forbid, which to sell. You aren’t alone…
There are two widely used scientific formulas used to calculate how many motorcycles are necessary to provide feelings of contentment, happiness and wellbeing. The traditional algorithm is n + 1, where n is your current tally, and it’s highly accurate when used by singletons and those wanting a divorce. However, for financial and emotional stability, Bike recommends the more sophisticated D - 1, where D is the number of bikes that will provoke relationship breakdown. Calculating D is a rewarding and exciting process as you add bikes and use your finely honed relationship skills to sense the proximity of impending calamity. Overstepping the mark can of course be painful as you’ll have to quickly sell or hide your least favourite motorcycle, but it’s valuable information. Once D is known, you can then concentrate on upgrading your collection within that limit.
We talk to four Bike readers with different approaches to the joyous world of multiple bike ownership.
