Militaire Tourine S1

- »

This is ace. The crankcases for the Militaire’s 1114cc inline four are part of the cast steel frame that features cantilever rear suspension and hub-centre steering. The motor boasts a three-speed gearbox that also has reverse, with small ‘bogie’ wheels on the back of the chassis that drop down to stop you toppling over, plus shaft drive. And of course its wheels are wooden. Earlier versions were branded Deluxe and even had a steering wheel instead of ’bars. This older-resto 1916 bike is said to be one of the most original Militaires remaining.
