Harley owned Italian firm Aermacchi in the ’70s, selling their two-strokes badged as H-D and using their skills to win three 250cc GP titles. They also used them for a short-lived all-out bid at motocross glory. This 1978 242cc single is one of fewer than 1000 built – so few were sold that many never made it from Italy to the H-D plant.
