Mo-clean’s top 5 tips

-

1 Use a degreaser on the chain, back wheel and engine. Start with the chain and the back wheel so that it’s got the most time to soak in. 2 Use a tar and spot remover on road tar and maybe a bug remover on insects. 3 Rinse all that off with a low pressure jetwash or a bucket and sponge.

4 Then wash it with a specialist soap or shampoo, and then rinse it again.

5 Dry it off. Mo-clean use an air dryer, but you can just use a microfibre cloth. Then you are into polishes, waxes, anti-corrosion treatments and what have you.

THANKS: last year I lamented the rusty demise of the Honda’s original silencer. Reader Chris Lovatt had one going begging, and we did a deal. With the silencer fitted, and the spruce up I’m back in love with the bike again.
