One voice is better
[ NATIONAL MOTORCYCLISTS COUNCIL ]
One of the problems bike pressure groups had when talking to regulators was they could never claim to represent all UK motorcyclists. So the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) did their thing, the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) did theirs and so did the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) and all the others. Important messages were often muddled. That, hopefully, has all changed with the National Motorcyclists Council (NMC).
The new organisation is supported by the BMF, ACU, MAG, IAM Roadsmart and the TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship), who all contribute financially to running it. NMC executive director Craig Carey-clinch: ‘The reaction from government has been very positive – politicians have actually asked me to talk to them about our main priority, which is a government motorcycle strategy. Initial discussions have already started, which is fantastic.’
