Touring on an Interceptor

-

Sure, the Interceptor pogos on bad surfaces, runs out of puff on fast stretches and the seat isn’t the most sumptuous (I strapped on an Air Hawk cushion) but it was always willing and always entertaining. Flexible power, neutral handling and a good riding position makes it an easy and relaxing ride that will happily cruise at an indicated 75-85mph. Excellent fuel economy means 200 miles between fill-ups is possible. Plus, the steel tank and bungee friendly frame allow improvised luggage carrying. There is something compelling about the simplicity of the bike; it’s just a motorcycle to have fun with. I’d happily ride one to John O’groats (or further) tomorrow.
