Making a Beeline

-

» Triumph’s own branded version of the established Beeline navigation device features a neat, machined aluminium case. The Beeline bonus is the size of the unit, only a couple of inches in diameter so inobtrusive, and the mount fits easily to handlebars using an elastic clip. It has its own battery with 30 hour life, so you don’t need to wire it in, just pair it to your mobile phone, secure in your pocket, and use your own mapping. An arrow points the direction of travel, with a numerical count down for the distance to the next junction, a gauge to show how much of the route you have travelled, a symbol to tell you which roundabout exit to take. Go off the route and the main arrow changes to a silhouette and a separate indicator points you back in the right direction. The only time it got confused on my Heart of Rural Britain jaunt was a tricky double roundabout on the A5. It confused me too. At Triumph dealers for £199, or get the un-branded version without the machined casing for a few quid less. As with all GPS devices I’d be wary about getting it very wet.
