Moto Guzzi 500 GTS
£15,900
Modern Motogp bikes feature external flywheels, so that different weight flywheels can be used to tailor engine characteristics for different circuits. And you can have one too, as it’s one of the intriguing features on Guzzi’s 498cc horizontal single. It’s where similarities obviously end, though I’d argue that the girder fork and friction-damped sprung frame of the GTS out-cool yet another load of Öhlins. Originally supplied to the Ministry of the Interior in Rome on 11 January, 1937 it has a comprehensive history and is ready to thud.
