The Bol d’or race weekend is 17-19 September and should be a perfect end of summer escape.

The four hour classic race runs over two legs, Friday evening and Saturday morning, while the main 24 hour event starts at 3pm Saturday.

There’s plenty of British interest in the classic race apart from Team Bike, and in the main event you should be cheering Gregg Black on the works Suzuki GSX-R1000. With Sylvain Guintoli and Kazuki Watanabe, he’s already won at Le Mans this year. Circuit Paul Ricard is 650 miles south of Calais. Take a hammer for tent pegs, and earplugs if you have any expectation of sleeping.
