No spark of interest

Curt Langan (Bike, January) told a very pretty story about his circumnavigation of the UK on an electric bike. However… Reading between the lines I don’t think all is as well as portrayed. He claims average range to top up is 125 miles, but the trip stats (dividing mileage by charges) gives 78 miles. His total recharges of 64, no matter how you look at it, is an immense amount of time even if you are using your mate’s Audi dealership, a fish and chip shop and your son-in-laws workplace hotel. I like the idea of an EV bike but until range and recharge times are drastically improved (and infrastructure) I will remain a user of internal combustion motorcycles. Tony Russell, email
