Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR
TRIPLE POWER
The RR shares its 1160cc, 12-valve, three-cylinder engine with the Speed Triple 1200 RS and has the same claimed 178bhp and 92 lb.ft. Though packed with midrange oomph it’s a revvier engine than older Triumph triples, and this nature better suits its new life in a sportsbike.
RIDER AIDS GALORE
Superbike-spec electronics pepper the RR: there’s lean-sensitive traction control (with anti-wheelie) and ABS, and five riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track and a custom ‘Rider’) with ascending levels of suspension, throttle and electronic sportiness.
IT’S A CLASS ACT
Where the RR will score against a superbike for some is the way it looks. There are no aggressive lines or garish race rep colours here, just subtle grown-up curves and two classy colour schemes: white/black, or for £250 extra the red/black you see here.
