» Another discovery from Shel’s research is that other motorcycles can cause you problems. One section of test footage passed a bike park outside a busy hospital, and unsurprisingly the motorcyclists spent longer than drivers checking out the bikes. The problem was that just beyond the bike park was a pedestrian crossing and an exit for ambulances which was, you guessed it, a motorcycle collision hotspot. ‘Having looked at my data I suspect that some of the accidents are caused by motorcyclists ogling the parked motorcycles,’ says Shel.
