Getting near classic status, but this is a benchmark BMW. The first model with Telelever, Paralever and oil-cooled heads, not to mention ABS, adjustable ergonomics and four-valve heads, the RS was a dream-standard model that set the blueprint for the firm’s boxer-powered success. And it’s still great to ride almost 30 years later. Two-grand buys a 40,000-mile example in fine condition complete with BMW luggage. And don’t worry too much about an intermittent ABS light – they all have one.
