HIGHLIGHTS: The Idle Valley Glossy Ibis remained throughout. Yellow-browed Warblers were at Annesley Pit Top, Netherfiel­d, Holme Pierrepont, Attenborou­gh, Lound (two) and Clumber. Richard’s Pipits were at Clifton (9th) and over Lound (11th). Two Cranes flew over Gedling Pit Top (20th).

ATTENBOROU­GH: A Great White Egret roosted (15th). Bitterns were noted. There were three Ruff, a Jack Snipe, Knot, Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Green Sandpiper, four Pintails, five Whooper Swans (20th) and a Black-necked Grebe (from 4th). Rock Pipits were seen twice.

LOUND/IDLE VALLEY: A Great White Egret was noted (from 2nd). Waders included 11 Redshanks, six Ruff, a Black-tailed Godwit, 120 Golden Plovers and a Little Stint. There were 22 Whooper Swans. Many Pinkfeet flew over. Groups of five, 10 and 20 White-fronted Geese were noted. Red-crested Pochards peaked at 120. A Common Scoter was noted (18th). There were 10 Bearded Tits, two Rock Pipits, three Stonechats and two Whinchats.

OTHER SITES: Pinkfeet included 865 over Hoveringha­m and 430 at Annesley Pit Top. White-fronted Geese were with Pinkfeet over Market Warsop (20th). Whooper Swans included 17 at Kilvington, 12 at Hoveringha­m and 11 at Langford. Kilvington held a Common Scoter. Eight Pintails were at Annesley. The wintering Garganey re-appeared at Eakring Flash. Slavonian Grebes were at Collingham (from 21st) and Holme Pierrepont (from 22nd). A Spotted Redshank was at Holme Pierrepont. A Curlew Sandpiper and 200 Golden Plovers were at Besthorpe. Jack Snipe were at Langford and Annesley Pit Top. Fifty Golden Plovers were at Hoveringha­m. Two Bitterns were at Netherfiel­d Lagoons. Great White Egrets were at Annesley, Kilvington and Bilsthorpe. There were numerous Ospreys and Red Kites. A Hen Harrier was at Costock, a Marsh Harrier at Netherfiel­d and a Hobby at Lound. A Short-eared Owl was at Hoveringha­m. A Water Pipit was at Annesley (28th) Rock Pipits were at Annesley, Collingham, and five at Holme Pierrepont. Seven Stonechats were at Gedling Pit Top, with seven

at Langford and others at Hoveringha­m and Barton-in-fabis. A Great Grey Shrike was at Budby, where redpolls included a Mealy. Bearded Tits included six at Netherfiel­d and others at Annesley, Mansfield Woodhouse and Langford. Bramblings were at several sites. Tom Shields
