How about a book that can produce wetland bird sounds at the touch of a button?

ANDREA PINNINGTON & CAZ BUCKINGHAM Fine Feather Press, HB, £12.99, you pay £10.99 by quoting BW-REV

The latest in a much-praised series of books that provide sounds to accompany the text, this volume deals with a dozen familiar wetland species. Originally produced for children, you can see why the books have an adult fanbase, too – for any beginner birdwatcher they provide a quick and easy way to start associating the right songs and calls with the right species. The text could be a bit more comprehensive, if we're nitpicking, but all the essentials are there and it looks good. That's half the battle when you're trying to attract youngsters into the sometimes forbidding world of birding.
