When you pass Lochailort you have roughly 2.5 miles to go to Polnish WHERE TO PARK: Close to the turn off for Polnish is a lay-by on your left. There should be plenty of space to park here TERRAIN: This path is marked with cairns on the moorland but most of it is easy to follow but with some steep worn areas at the beginning. Once up on the moor the views add to the walk and when dropping down to the settlement – breathtaki­ng! FACILITIES: The bothy can fill up at weekends if you intend to stay overnight. Sea Kayaks can make it here so don’t go by the number of cars in the car park for your guests for the night! PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Limited buses from Fort William to Mallaig, web: traveline.org.uk. The train is ideal for making this journey, often with winter reductions.
