HIGHLIGHTS: A Wryneck was at Foxhill Farm Daventry (4th). A Bittern was at Stortons GP (5th). A Marsh Warbler was ringed at Stanford Reservoir (9th), with a northern-race Willow Warbler there (21st). A Spotted Crake was near Clifford Hill GP (29th). Great White Egrets were at Hollowell Reservoir, Ditchford GP and Daventry CP, with three at Thrapston GP. BOROUGH HILL: An Osprey flew over. Tree Pipits, Redstarts and Whinchats visited. CLIFFORD HILL GP: A Greenshank, Green Sandpiper, two Common Sandpipers, six Dunlin and a White Wagtail were recorded. DAVENTRY CP: There were two Caspian Gulls, five Yellow-legged Gulls, a Mediterran­ean Gull, four Black-tailed Godwits, three Greenshank­s, three Little Ringed Plovers, 12 Green Sandpipers, seven Common Sandpipers and a Dunlin. An Osprey flew over. DITCHFORD GP: Ospreys were seen twice. There were two Marsh Harriers, a Mediterran­ean Gull and two Black-tailed Godwits. EARLS BARTON GP: A Garganey was present for a few days. A Marsh Harrier, two Ruff, four Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper and two Little Ringed Plovers visited. HOLLOWELL RESERVOIR: There were two Spotted Redshanks, three Greenshank­s, a Whimbrel, Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Little Ringed Plover, nine Common Sandpipers, four Green Sandpipers, two Ospreys, two Hobbies, a Black Tern (22nd), Mediterran­ean Gull, Caspian Gull, Yellow-legged Gull and Garganey. PITSFORD RESERVOIR: A Marsh Harrier was present. Ospreys were seen twice, along with two Hobbies. There was a Garganey, three Pintails, two Mediterran­ean Gulls, two Caspian Gulls, two Yellow-legged Gulls, a Turnstone, Curlew, Ruff, Common Sandpiper, Whinchat, Tree Pipit and Wheatear. STANFORD RESERVOIR: Four Tree Pipits, a Whinchat and Redstart were ringed. There was a Marsh Harrier, Osprey, Black-tailed Godwit, Greenshank and Little Gull. STANWICK GP: A Garganey stayed for three weeks. Waders included a stint species, three Black-tailed Godwits, three Ringed Plovers, two Little Ringed Plovers, three Green Sandpipers, two Common Sandpipers and a Dunlin. A Marsh Harrier visited. THRAPSTON GP: There were three Ospreys, a Marsh Harriers and two Hobbies. A Turnstone, two Black-tailed Godwits, Green and Common Sandpipers, and two Yellow-legged Gulls were logged. OTHER SITES: Mediterran­ean Gulls were at Ringstead GP and Boddington Reservoir. Ospreys flew over Borough Hill, Moulton (two), Fawsley Park Lake and Priors Hall, where a Marsh Harrier was seen. A Red-crested Pochard was at Ravensthor­pe Reservoir. Tree Pipits were at Harrington Airfield, Welford Quarry, Naseby Reservoir and Croughton Quarry. Whinchats visited Glapthorn Cow Pasture and Twywell, with two at both Chelveston Airfield and Wicksteed Park. Three Redstarts were at Twywell, with others at Harrington Airfield, Fawsley, Old (four), Blueberry Farm (four) and near Hanging Houghton, where there was an early returning Ring Ouzel (28th).
