BLASHFORD LAKES: The regular Great White Egret frequented Ivy Lake (1st-8th and 28th-29th) with another on Ibsley Water (29th). Ibsley Water also hosted two Cattle Egrets (30th) and a Black Tern (27th). An Osprey flew over Kingfisher Lake (30th). HILL HEAD-HAMBLE: Titchfield Haven logged Spotted Crake (4th), Great White Egret (two on 1st, singles 2nd-3rd & 28th-29th) and Spoonbill (22nd). Waders included three Wood Sandpipers, Spotted Redshank and Ruff. A Pied Flycatcher was ringed (4th). Yellow Wagtails peaked at 220. Hill Head had Roseate Tern (23rd), Black Terns, four Arctic Terns, 650 Common Terns, Arctic Skua (26th) and Yellow-legged Gull (24th-25th). Hook-withwarsas­h had a Red-backed Shrike (27th). LANGSTONE HARBOUR: Farlington Marshes had a White Stork over (25th), Cattle Egret (18th), three Curlew Sandpipers, a Little Stint, Ruff, Spotted Redshank, Garganey, six Whinchats, two Wheatears, 15 Yellow Wagtails and two Spotted Flycatcher­s. Two Ospreys were in Langstone Harbour (from 22nd), with a Black Tern (29th). Hayling Island held a Wryneck (31st). Wood Sandpipers flew over Fishery Creek (2nd and 6th). Pied Flycatcher­s were at Sandy Point on three dates. Three Ospreys were in Chichester Harbour (29th). LYMINGTON-MILFORD-ON-SEA: Three Spoonbills were at Pennington Marshes (26th). Ospreys were seen (7th and 17th), with a Marsh Harrier (27th). Waders included a Curlew Sandpiper, three Little Stints, two Spotted Redshanks, a Ruff, 11 Avocets, 53 Grey Plovers, a Little Ringed Plover, 13 Ringed Plovers, three Whimbrels, 136 Curlews, 195 Black-tailed Godwits, 47 Turnstones, ten Knot, four Sanderling, 680 Dunlin, four Common Sandpipers and four Greenshank­s. Offshore from Keyhaven/pennington was a Great Skua (27th) and Arctic Skua (13th). Two Arctic Skuas passed Milford-on-sea (10th). A Pied Flycatcher was at Keyhaven (12th). OTHER SITES: Lepe had an Aquatic Warbler (21st), Osprey (4th), Marsh Harrier (4th-5th and 15th) and Pied Flycatcher (4th). A Spotted Crake at Ramptons Lane (22nd) was the first record for the area. Wrynecks were at Hinton Ampner (20th-21st) and North Baddesley (30th). Two Tree Sparrows were in Alton (26th). Testwood Lakes had a Great White Egret (29th) and Garganey (27th-29th). Fishlake Meadows held a Great White Egret and Osprey. Edenbrook CP (Fleet) had a Garganey (20th-21st) and Black-tailed Godwit (5th-6th). Fleet Pond held Black Terns (26th and 31st), an Arctic Tern (12th) and Pied Flycatcher (20th). Alresford Pond had a Marsh Harrier (23rd), Black-tailed Godwit (5th-9th), Ringed Plover (23rd) and 11 Green Sandpipers. A Wood Sandpiper was at Woolmer Pond (to 3rd). A great inland record was 22 Black-tailed Godwits over Winnall Moors (23rd). Tom Jordan
