Pink and delicate, the Rosy Bonnet is the fungal embodiment of innocence. But looks can deceive. This mushroom contains the toxin muscarine: admire it at close range, by all means, but don’t even think of harvesting it for your omelette. November marks the end of its fruiting season; it is more common in broadleaved woodland than evergreen.
