WAYMARKERS

1 From the car park check the beck and nearby waterfall for possible Dipper. Blackbird, Robin and Wren should be around.

2 Then through the woodland, beck and bush for Jay and other members of the corvid family, plus Nuthatch and Treecreeper.

3 By Falling Foss check for Grey Wagtail, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, three tits and also Great Spotted Woodpecker.

4 Seek Woodpigeon, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Yellowhammer and Tawny Owl. In the more open areas, look for Grey Partridge, Pheasant, Meadow Pipit, Green Woodpecker and, in summer, Swallow and House Martin dashing around and a possible Swift in the sky.
