Bird Watching (UK)

What’s this bird that came into my garden, please?

QCan you please help me by identifying this juvenile that appeared in my garden. Despite asking birding friends, no one has given a conclusive answer. Joe Bennett

AIt’s an adult Dunnock, a species that, while widespread and numerous, often seems to cause ID headaches. We’d guess that’s because of its low-key grey and brown colouring, and its rather skulking habits – you can easily miss them even when they’re living in your garden. The pose that this one has been photographed in is misleading, too – they typically remain on the ground, holding their bodies close to the ground, while this one is being rather bold.
