1 First walk along the track with bushes and trees on one side to check for Black­bird, Thrush, House Spar­row, Dun­nock, Chaffinch, Robin, Wren and all three tits. 2 Then the path goes round the end of the oxbow where there is a large reedbed at­tract­ing Reed Bunting, Reed War­bler or Sedge War­bler. 3 Then along the Green­fields Wood­land check­ing for Jay, Great Spot­ted Wood­pecker, Treecreeper or Nuthatch. 4 Fi­nally along the steep sided walk where Jack­daws are around then down the foot­path by the road­side look­ing over the oxbow to the east which is a large open area where a pos­si­ble Barn Owl can be seen and sum­mer vis­i­tors Swal­low, House Martin and Swift can be seen. Note that Red Kites are recorded more fre­quently in the gen­eral area so you may be lucky.
